Ten years on Bedrock and Crystal, seven on Spectrum, covering yellowing, cracking, bubbling and delamination. Real-world life depends on climate, wash habits and sun exposure. Say that up front and you'll never get the angry call.
On healthy factory paint, nothing comes off but the film. The adhesive releases with gentle heat and leaves nothing behind. Repainted panels are the variable — if a respray was poorly prepped, that paint was already failing. Worth putting in writing before you start.
The topcoat is elastic, so fine swirls and light wash marks close as the surface warms in the sun or under a heat gun. Deep gouges through the topcoat are permanent. It demos well on a scrap panel at the counter.
